Lowering the burden on local taxpayers takes more than short-term fixes. It means working hard to bring provincial and federal funding back to Scugog. This term, I helped secure significant outside investment for important local projects, helping stretch every local tax dollar further. I'll keep fighting for our community and make sure Scugog has a strong voice wherever funding decisions

are made.

Roads and infrastructure remain Scugog's number one priority. I am committed to the fiscal responsibility that lets us keep investing in our roads, facilities, and the growth and well-being of our community.

Sound decisions come from sound planning. Our choices about what to build, repair, and maintain are guided by real data, our Asset Management Plan, infrastructure and condition assessments, outside funding opportunities, and, most importantly, what we hear from residents through budget surveys and at the council table.

I am dedicated to looking after what we have and planning for what we need, always with prudent and respectful consideration for the taxpayer.

The biggest decisions belong to all of us, so we bring residents to the table on the issues that matter most. That includes public budget input sessions, where residents help shape how the Township spends and saves, and public input meetings on the Waterfront Action Plan, the Parks & Recreation Master Plan, and the visioning exercise of the Fairgrounds, so the community can help guide the outcome. Your voice belongs in these decisions. I will ensure it is heard by providing opportunities for input across the Township.

Access to quality health care has always been a key focus for me. I was proud to gather signatures on a petition that successfully saved our hospital from closure. I supported the Docs for Durham program alongside other Durham municipalities, focused on recruiting and retaining family doctors for our region. I will continue to advocate for health services and the needs of the long-term care facility.

Scugog is growing, and how we grow matters. I believe in growth that fits our small-town character, protects our farmland and our lake, and comes with the roads, water, green spaces and servicing capacity to actually support it. Development should work for Scugog, not the other way around. I will work to ensure that processes are transparent, that Scugog interests come first and that development negotiations are respectful of our responsible growth plan.

Our lake, our farmland, our rural roots, and the community spaces that bring us together are the heart of who we are. I'm committed to continue protecting them for future generations through collaboration with residents, experts and local community groups to ensure the best outcomes for our most valued spaces.

In 2022, I promised to improve how the Township communicates with residents, and we delivered. The Township of Scugog was awarded a Gold MarCom Award, an international honour for excellence in communications. We have received input from over a thousand residents on how we want to shape the future of our community through budget open houses, timely council updates on the town website, and the visioning exercise of the Fairgrounds. Your voice belongs at the table, and I'll keep working to make local government open, accessible, and accountable.

Programs and spaces that keep every generation in Scugog active, connected, and supported are top of mind. I am committed to improving accessibility to community programming, maintaining facilities for all and learning how we can grow in order to fill the gaps.
